The Mimosa Booster Club is proud to announce some capital improvements for our young athletes.  The booster club has joined forces with the recreation department to have 2 batting cages installed at Lagatutta Park.  The cages will be installed along the fence near the canal.  Work is expected to start in the next few weeks with the trees being trimmed, followed by the cage installations.

In addition to the 2 cages at Lagatutta, new nets have been hung at the batting cage behind Lakewood Elementary, next to field #2.  These two improvements were donated to the booster club by the recreation department and will help our children to excel in the coming baseball season.

The booster club is also arranging to have a booster club sign located at Lagatutta Park.  The sign will be useful in announcing club news, registration information and general items important to the function of the booster club.

The booster club has also earmarked $5,000 for the installation of batting cages at Rathborne Park.  Those cages are due to be installed during future phases of Rathborne construction.  The booster club is also discussing outside basketball courts at the Rathborne site.  Those plans would require additional approval from the parish for the planning and implementation.

The Mimosa Booster Club is operated exclusively for the purpose of promoting constructive projects pertaining to recreational activities for youngsters through organized efforts; encouraging and promoting good sportsmanship; and working with other organizations to achieve these purposes.

Mimosa Booster Club is a Non-Profit Organization whose only source of income is from fundraising efforts and the collection of registration fees.  Fees are used for equipment, uniform and award purchases.

An investment in our children is an investment in the future of our community.
